Ridgway's Rail (Rallus obsoletus) is a bird species found in marshes and wetlands along the Pacific coast of North America. The MLK Jr. Regional Shoreline in Oakland, also known as the Martin Luther King Jr. Shoreline or Arrowhead Marsh, is one of the key habitats for this species. During the breeding season, Ridgway's Rails can be found nesting in the marshes of this area. The chicks are typically seen in late spring to early summer. These birds are considered endangered, and efforts have been
