Niel Gow (1727-1807) was a Scottish fiddle player, composer, and publisher from Perthshire. His most famous song "Niel Gow's Lament for the Death of his 2d Wife," was first published in 1809 in his son's book "Fifth Collection of Strathspeys, Reels, Etc., for the Piano Forte, Harp, Violin & Violincello."
