The 100th anniversary of the arrival of the US Navy to Ireland in 1917 was marked today with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in Cobh. Footage shows worsening conditions along coastal areas in Dublin as weather alerts are in effect across a number of counties. Ireland is set to be hit by a “multi-weather hazard event” as a Status Orange warning for snow and ice has been issued for six counties, with significant snowfall expected.
