Well that was a quick and successful two hours of fishing! You won’t believe it, readers, but I got a fish!!!! Yay! I landed a cracking grilse of about 6lbs - bright silver, but no lice. I also had another one on, briefly, so all in all I had an amazing couple of hours fishing. As you probably saw from my earlier post I rigged up a unique rig designed to strip in the slow pools and swing in the quicker ones, and lo and behold, it worked! I actually got the fish on the size 10 Cascade, even thoug

STOP THE PRESS!!!!! You won’t believe it, those that have been following my Search for Silver, but today the fishings gods smiled on me!!! Finally, after about 40 fishing days with limited success in the shape of a couple of sea trout, and a couple of grilse, I have finally hooked and landed an adult anadromous fish!!!!! I caught a lovely hatchery steelhead of around 7lbs in the tail of the pool where I did my earlier post. The fish took very gently on one cast and didn’t connect, and then it di
