Public School Number Four also known as Annie Lytle School established in 1917. If you’ve driven down 95 through Jacksonville Florida, you may have noticed this abandoned derelict building. It’s completely gutted and suffered a fire. The damage from the fire can be seen in the last google maps photo. Jacksonville’s done a pretty good job of keeping this school posted and secured in recent years. I visited three times in the past five years and it’s been very well secured. I’d say that’s quit

At the time the school house overlooked Riverside Park, but that changed when the construction of interstate 95 and interstate 10 took place. In 1960 the school was permanently closed, and was used as storage and office space for ten years.
